Back to 95 CD compilation slated for 25-08-08

It's nice when you see a success story in the UK garage scene. Back to 95 is one of those stories to warm the cockles of any UK garage heart.
SVA Promotions started back in 1999 and was the brainchild of figures from the now defunct pirate station 89.4FM London Underground. Back to 95 launched at Club Aquarium in London's Old Street and was an instant success. Nearly 10 years on and countless raves behind them, Back to 95 is now one of the biggest old skool UK Garage raves in London.
SVA have now branched out and have a compilation CD of all of those '95 classics scheduled to be released on Monday August 25 2008. The CD will be mixed by non other than Norris 'Da Boss' Windross
Support this one as it's filled with absolute bangers from the likes of MK, Logic, Tuff Jam, Anthill Mob, New Horizons, Greg Stainer + many more

Grant Nelson's Anthology Part 2 finally lands - Bump n Flex goodness

UK Garage proprietor Grant Nelson is responsible for some of the biggest club tunes of our era. At this moment in time the UKG veteran is no longer in the scene and focuses most of his production efforts on laying down Funky & Soulful house.
2 years ago Grant started a project to release all of his back catalog in 4 anthology mixes. After part one appeared in 2006 we were told he was working on part 2 - which was to feature all of his work produced under Bump n Flex.
An intial buzz was subdued as the mix was started but never surfaced. Luckily Grant appeared online and told us on his MySpace that The Anthology Part II was ready for download!
2 years in the making - grab it below.
DEA Classic "So High" gets a sly repress

A UK Garage classic quitely got restocked a few weeks back and no one seemed to make a fuss.
So High is a tune that was famously hammered by the greats such as EZ and The Heartless Crew but was a tune that was very limited when it first came out back in 1998. The white label, that was the 2nd release from the DEA Project camp, has been known to go for anything up to £50 on the second hand market.
Cheekily back in June, this classic EP had a repress and hit the shelves again in all good record shops. The usual channels that would flag up such a classic being back in stock were quite, with no one publically noticing it had even reappeared. This lack of vinyl awareness clearly demostrates the ever-declining interest for vinyl and UK Garage in general. Either that, or the £10 price tag is too much of a liberty!
Still, if you want to get your hands on this classic you can head over to any good UK garage store and pick it up now.

Last week Subjam's morning listeners were subjected to a treat when Dutch DJ Ed Selecta took over the breakfast show for a week.
Ed - who plays live from Holland - did so well they asked him back for another week. So if you want to find some quality upfront UK garage to listen to over your cornflakes lock in to 104.7FM or Subjam.com between 7 and 10AM all next week.
It's Shmoke-and-a-pancake-tastic.
Da Phuture finishes his first tune for 2 years and gives it away for free
Bumpy 4x4 garage producer Da Phuture is notorious for starting tunes and not finishing them. So when he presented the latest tune he was working on - a remix of Mary J Blige's tune Work That - he was understandably met with not the most positive of responses. After cries of "go away and finish it" the skeptics were left stunned when Work That (Da Phuture's ReRub) appeared on Duncan Powell's latest mix download.
With the lack of vinyl on the market at the moment there was a general fear of this tune being lost to the "forbidden unreleased tune zone".
Well get this - he gave it away for free. Download it below!
Free tune: Mr Pud - Your Technique (4x4 Remix)

The shower of free UK Garage tunes continues today, this time with a contribution from MRP's Mr Pud.
A topic was brought up recently on a popular UK garage forum on Pud's tune Your Technique with the patron stating how good the tune - featured on "From MRP With Love Vol 1." - was. A few days later Mr Pud appeared and GAVE IT AWAY FOR FREE.
Now why doesn't this happen with Karl Brown & Todd Edwards?
Anyway - Thanks Pud!
