El-B In The Mix - Slick n Fresh Presents Ghost - SnF Guest Mix
Slicknfresh.co.uk are proud to announce the launch of our guest mix slot, which we plan to run for some time to come.
Kicking off the festivities is non other than the one and only dark garage legend, El-B, treating our ears to the latest and freshest cuts from the Ghost camp.
2010 looks set to be a big year for El-B, with his re-emergence from his recent musical slumber causing quite a stir with the new and old faces of the dubstep world. In April, Ghost will release the 'Nu-Levels' album, featuring exclusive tracks from the likes of J Da Flex, Skream, MRK-1, Zed Bias, and Heny G - but what has really been causing a stir is the rumours of an El-B vs Burial collaboration, a mouth watering prospect to say the least!
Preceding that he has the 'Lets Get Greazy' 12" out soon with J Da Flex, as well as the 'Dirty' E.P dropping late Feb/early March on Night Audio. You can keep up to date with the latest new over at El-B's MySpace

Introducing... Imploded Records

Imploded Records stepped onto the UK Garage scene in a bold fashion earlier in 2009. Their release “Ain’t No Stopping Us 09” grabbed the attention of avid UKG listeners, of course being a bang up to date 2-step fix of the Luck and Neat ladies anthem.
With their forthcoming 2-stepper featuring Ed James “Get Em Off” confirms everything that Imploded are about. It’s a bold attempt to prevent the traditional 2 step sound from falling into the chasm of no return. Here at Slick n Fresh, we love it and hope they continue to bring such heat to the table.

Free Download - Scott Tonic presents Unreleased Projects Volume 1

UK Garage is a small world. Small enough that it's likely you'll be able to chat to your favourite producer over email or MSN without much trouble (not exactly akin to other more widespread genres).
There's also the Slick n Fresh Forum which receives visits from some of the scene's biggest remaining producers. It's patrons can sometimes make magic happen; and in the case of today that's exactly how it went when one of our members contacted Scott Tonic.
Scott now mainly producers with former 50% of Tuff Jam, Mr Matt Jam Lamont, under several guises across a few dance genres. Scott can also fly solo when he wants to and is even known to put out an album or two himself. This was the case back in 2007 when ST put out Unreleased Project Vol 1.
UPV1 was an MP3 release you could only get at the time from Scott directly in exchange for a few English pennies. Well guess what baby birds? He said right here YOU CAN HAVE IT FOR FREE.
The album is where we first saw Scott's 2-step smash Headlock, alongside 11 other well produced diverse beats.
